The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the superivision of the deputy superintendent for operations, the disciplinary officer is responsible for processing disciplinary reports and for dispensing disciplinary sanctions. Disciplinary reports are written by officers to report inmate infractions of institutional rules and are submitted to the disciplinary officer, who determines whether they are a major or minor offense, processes the report, and dispenses punishments.
